Cricket TXTM8 phone optimized for SMS-only

Cricket TXTM8 I believe that there is an entire generation that uses their mobile phone for text messages only, and it would appear that Cricket is prepared for it with the TXTM8.

The TXTM8, or text-mate, is a messaging phone with a full QWERTY keyboard. Don’t ask me where that keyboard is in this picture (we’re guessing slider,) but I’m told that it also comes with a customizable homescreen that allows users access to web content such as news and weather. Other features include a 1.3 Megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, a music player, and microSD slot.

cool phone but junk to me. try to text and says service not supported but my plan has it all. no one at cricket can figure it out. gave me a new phone and it does the same thing.

This phone is pretty cool but when u try to download ringtones from the Internet it won’t let you it’s really dumb so I’m guessing you can only use the ringtones they have on the phone which is retarted. If they expect people to buy this phone they better get with the program.

There ‘s a trick to downloading ringtones with this phone. The browser doesn’t let you which stinks but the work around is easy. Download the ringtone on your computer then email it to yourphonenumber@mms.mycricket.com . You’ll receive the message on your phone as an mms message and have the option to save the file and set it as a ring tone.

I just got mine the other day and noticed a glitch in the calendar. When I create a new event and set the end time more than 30 minutes out the phone switches it back to 30 minutes from the start time. I absolutely can not create an event with more than a 30 minute duration.

Anyone else seeing this ?

Another complaint I have about this phone is that I haven’t yet figured out how to make it hang up when I slide it closed. The result is I have to slide the phone closed then press the disconnect button.

Anyone got a fix for that?

I have a similar problem every time I buy a new phone. I have to hard reboot the phone (As in remove the battery) and after doing that my text messages always come back up.

Eric, try going to settings, then phone settings, then option 8 is “slide close” select that and make sre “end task” is selected. Hope this helps!!

I have had dis fone for about 3 or 4 months n it sucks so much!

I mean like it is broke an i had it n my pocket an now it wont even come on i didnt do anything to it i was at skoo ):

Cricket fones suck i will never buy a fone from der again it is like my 6th one…

Btw u cant get ringtones online…get some one to send some to u by bluetooth or u can use ur computer an send demm by a pic message PutyournumberHere@mms.mycricket.com an when u get it as a message u can save as ringtone or save this file!!

Not worth $160 for dis fone

THE TXTM8 PHONE SUX!!! I JUST GOT IT A FEW DAYS AGO AND I CAN’T EVEN SEND PIX TO MY E-MAIL I HAVE TO GO ONLINE INSTEAD OF DOWNLOADING RINGTONES CONVENIENTLY FROM MY PHONE AND THE QWERTY IS JAMMED TOGETHER IT TRIES TO PREDICT UR MESSAGES WHICH IS NOT BETTER THAN T9 WORD IF YA ASK ME…AND WHY COULDN’T THEY PUT VIDEO RECORDER ON IT…ITS NOT AT ALL WHAT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE…I GUESS ONE GOOD THING ABOUT IT IS THE SIDEBAR FEATURE…WHEW!! SORRY HAD TO VENT SCREW CRICKET AND ITS BUILT TO BREAK PHONES!!!!!!!!!!!!

i jus got this phone and its ok.. but when i recieve a mms i get a link and a code. when i go to it and enter it all it still wont go through. when i try to send a mms it always fails. and i do have pic msgin on my phone. help!!
